Modes is the fabric shop in Midtown know by the rest of the world from it's go-to shop on Project Runway. It was the biggest fabric warehouse I have ever seen! We had just over an hour here and would have only looked at probably one tenth of the fabrics. What was fantastic was the overall quality of the fabrics for such a large store - there were thousands of rolls of silk and silk blends, cashmeres, leathers, fur, designer patterns... I could've spent days there!

All American Everything. This was taken on Independence Day on Wall Street.
Gotta love American patriotism!

We visited Harvard in Boston which was filled with students like these studying out on the green grass campus. They must be so incredibly clever.

MoMA's PS1 is a contemporary art gallery in Queens. Every summer they hold a Summer Concert series in their outdoor courtyard, and as part of the Young Architect's program they have a competition to design a summer pavilion to be built in the space. This is this years winning design - all of the furniture/trees and the white fabric strips which twist over the whole courtyard span.

Despite being a city jam packed with highrise office and apartment blocks, more often than not these towering buildings have roof gardens! It's so awesome to walk around the busy city, gazing up at these magnificent buildings and seeing green trees peeking out the top. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to be up there...
